Rules of Nominating a Banknote

Welcome to the Rules of Nomination page where you can learn the rules of nominating a banknote for the banknote of the Year. The rules for nominating a banknote of the year are as follows.
 
1. The Note must be issued by a Middle East or North Africa Country if you are unsure if the country is from Middle East or North Africa then visit the countries page for a list of Middle East and North Africa Countries.The country could currently exist or it could have existed in the past.
 
2. The banknote could have been issued at anytime the country has existed and there is no rule on when the Banknotes should have been issued for the banknotes to be nominated.
 
3. Any IBNS Middle East and Northa Africa Topical Chapter Member is welcome to nominate a banknote for the banknote of the year. Each Member is only allowed to nominate one banknote for the banknote of the year during each period (ex. each member can only nominate one banknote in 2011 and can nominate another one for the banknote of the year 2012).
 
4. Nominations for the banknote of the year are only accepted up to the 20th of december of the year of the Banknote of the year such as in 2011 the banknote of 2011 nominations are only accepted up till the 20th of December 2011. The rule can only be passed if a country issues a new banknote beetween December 25th and 31st so in this case nominations are accepted up til the 31st of December.
 
5. Nominations will be displayed on the website under the nominations page and might possibly be displayed in the monthly newsletter.
 
6. The banknote must be circulating currency no specimens or commemorative Banknotes.
 
7. Imaginative designs will be considered.
 
8. Good use of Colour, Contrast and general balance will also be considered.
 
9. Design features that take advantage of modern security features will be well considered, taking into account the issuing authority and the value of the note.
 
10. Once you submit a note you must include the issuing country, the year of issue, the denomination, the pick no., and a reason for nomination. A front and back .jpg image could be added if possible, if not we will supply you with the image
